Mg-doped Zn/La mixed oxide for decarboxylation of glycerol carbonate: Effect of catalyst preparation method |

With increasing concern about biodiesel production as an alternative for fossil fuel, the large amount of glycerol which is generated as a by-product is attracting much interest to increase its sustainability. In this respect, glycidol is a focus of attention as a higher value added chemicals for glycerol carbonate derivatived from glycerol due to its potential with many applications. In this study, catalytic decarboxylation of glycerol carbonate was investigated over Mg-doped Zn/La mixed oxide prepared by different preparation method such as co-precipitation, wet-impregnation and deposition-precipitation method. The characterization of catalysts were investigated by XRD, N2 adsorption-desorption isotherms, FE-SEM and NH3/CO2-TPD. From the analysis results we confirm the correlation of catalyst properties by preparation method and catalytic activity. |
