Thermal reduction of graphene oxide thin films by using microchannel systems |

We report a selective thermal reduction of the chemically derived graphene oxide (GO) thin film by usingmicrofluidic-channel systems containing ionic liquids. Temperature inside the microchannel can be reached over 100ºC by applying AC electric field; due to Joule-heating of the ionic liquids. Then, GO thin film beneath the microchannels was reduced selectively. The degree of micro-patterned reduced graphene oxide (rGO) could be controllable by changing the AC field intensity, flow rate of ionic liquids and times. We characterized the rGO micropatterns by means of Raman and XPS spectra. This is a facile method and environment-friendly process. |
