Flexible polyethylene terephthalate (PET) electrodes based on pristine SWNTs and acid-treated SWNTs (A-SWNTs) were prepared by spray coating technique. A-SWNTs electrodes showed enhanced electrochemical properties compared to the pristine SWNTs electrode. The flexible A-SWNTs electrodes exhibited reasonable capacitive behavior in various types of aqueous electrolytes including sulfuric acid, sodium sulfate, potassium chloride, sodium hydroxide and potassium hydroxide solutions even after prolonged bending cycles. The electrochemical performances of the A-SWNTs electrodes as a function of bending cycles at 30° were carried out by using cyclic voltammogram (CV), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and galvanostatic charge/discharge (GCD) test. The highest capacitance value of the unbent electrode was 62.8 F g-1 which decreased to 59.7 F g-1 (95% retention) after 1000 GCD cycles. |
