Study on the protein adsorption to biocompatible calcium phosphate surface |

Protein adsorption is a critical index which can determine the success of biomaterial implants. Calcium phosphate (CP) has been widely used as bone substitutes. In this study, we investigated the protein adsorption to CP and compared with silica surface. The surface structure was examined using a scanning electron microscope and the hydrophilicity of the surface was characterized by contact angle measurement. The adsorbed protein mass was measured using Q-CMD. The result demonstrated that CP significantly affected the protein adsorption behavior |
