제목 Modified method for the synthesis of graphitic oxide and surface-modification of the resulting graphitic oxide using functionalized PEOs
초록 Graphene is a new carbonaceous material which can be synthesized by chemical or physical modification of graphite. It has been well known that there are many different oxidation methods of graphite. In this study, to obtain surface-functionalized graphitic oxide using poly(ethylene oxide) leading to the production of water-soluble graphitic oxide, graphene oxide was synthesized through the modified Hummers’ method. In particular, graphite was first intercalated by methylene blue, followed by Hummers’ process using sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid and several oxidizing agents. This modification method provides effectively hydrophilic graphitic oxide. The graphitic oxide may be modified by the reaction with living alkoxide PEOs and/or azide-functionalized PEOs resulting in the generation of water soluble graphene oxide. In this presentation, we will report the preliminary results.
