제목 Enhancement of Osteoblastic differentiation on mesenchymal stem cells by chitosan
초록 Chitosan is produced commercially by deacetylation of chitin, whiche is the structural element in the exoskeleton of crustaceans (crabs, shrimp, etc.). Chitosan enhances the transport of polar drugs across epithelial surfaces, and is biocompatible and biodegradable. Chitosans are available for biomedical applications. In this study, we evaluated the effect of water-soluble chitosan on the osteogenic differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells (D1 cells). We suggest that water-soluble chitosan enhances osteoblast differentiation through the induction of calcium deposit and the enhancement of surface molecules, such as, CD44 and CD51.
