제목 Electrochemical study of ion liquid based electrodes for high temperature polymer electrolyte fuel cells
초록 The commercialization of PEFCs has some serious problems such as the difficulty of water management, reducing of expensive Pt catalyst, and Pt poisoning by carbon monoxide. Most of these problems might be solved by operations at higher temperatures than 100 C. However conventional membranes exhibit poor proton conductivity above 100°C due to their temperature and humidity dependence. To solve this problem, we suggested the ionic liquids(ILs) as a conducting material at high temperature. ILs as a substitute of water in sulfonated polymers have shown considerable potential as high temperature electrolytes due to their unique properties such as nonvolatility, high ionic conductivity, nonflammability. In this study electrochemical studies were investigated for IL based electrodes in terms of fuel crossover, resistance, various voltammograms for high temperature anhydrous polymer electrolyte fuel cells.
