제목 Proper copolymerization of α-methylstyrene with methacrylonitrile for preparation of composite membranes in redox flow battery
초록 To develop a chemically stablemembrane for application in a redox flow battery (RFB), α-methylstyrene (AMS)-based composite membrane was prepared by monomer sorption method using copolymerization with methacrylonitrile (MAN) and divinylbenzene (DVB). These monomers were readily impregnated and polymerized into a porous polyethylene (PE) film. The prepared AMS/MAN/PE composite membrane showed higher proton conductivity and ion-exchange capacity compared to Nafion membranes. Furthermore, theOCV and cycle performance of the RFB single cell with the composite membrane and the pristine Nafion 117 has been conducted.
