Enhancement of Photovoltaic Efficiency by PHO based Co-adsorbent on the TiO2Nanostructure in the Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells |

The charge recombination at the TiO2-electrolyte interface in the dye-sensitized solar cells is a major factor to determine the photovoltaic efficiency of DSSC. In this work, we introduced PHO containing COOH functional-group as a co-adsorbent on the TiO2 layer. The hydrophobic co-absorbent molecule is anchored to the surface of titanium dioxide semiconductor and can be the barrier to protect the interface between the triiodide of electrolyte and mesoporous TiO2 layer. And the electron recombination rate was reduced and open circuit voltage (Voc), short circuit current (Jsc) and power conversion efficiency (η) were markedly enhanced under 1 sun condition. The electron recombination rate was characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). |
