New types of blood compatible polyurethane(PU) based on inclusion complex of cyclodextrin and polyether polyol have been synthesized from 4,4’-methylene bis (phenylene isocyanate)(MDI) and inclusion complex of β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) and polypropylene glycol bis(2-aminopropyl ether) (PPG-diamine), followed by chain extention reaction by ethylene diamine in N,N-dimethyl acetamide(DMAc). Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), 1H NMR, GPC were used to confirm the syntheses of the resulting polymers. Fibrinogen was utilized as indices for the assessment of the blood compatibility. The effects of incorporation on the morphology, surface properties and blood compatibility were also discussed. Our desingned polyrotaxane-typed polyurethanes are suggested to be a promising candidate when fabricating blood-compatible medical devices by blending or coating on clinically polymers. |
