제목 Investigation to the Hydrophobic Surface Modification of Calcite Obtained by FGD-Gypsum Process
초록 Calcium carbonate as filler in the industrial fields such as plastics, rubber, paint should be required well-refined and dispersed form, especially, calcite needs surface modification process to obtain hydrophobic character. For this purpose, surface of calcite which was obtained by mineral carbonation process of flue gas desulfurize gypsum and ammonium carbonate was modified by mechanical shaking and chemical treatment with several modifiers in the medium of organic solvents and water systems. Those results showed positively increased hydrophobicity and functionality of calcium carbonate surface. In addition to, optimum processing conditions and evaluational methods was elucidated.
