Radiation-crosslinked poly(vinyl alcohol) hydrogel for the transdermal permeation of lidocaine HCl |
초록 |
Hydrogels of poly(vinyl alcohol) loaded with lidocaine HCl, an local anesthetic, were prepared by using a γ-irradiation followed by a freeze-thawing. Various formulations were prepared with various amounts of polymer, additives, and initial drug. The dynamic swelling and drug-release behaviors were dependent on the crosslinking density. The release of lidocaine was continued up to 12 h. The hydrogels that were prepared with a higher irradiation released the drug more slowly. The release data were fitted to an empirical equation to estimate the transport parameters, which indicated a non-Fickian trend for drug transport. |
