제목 | Electrohydrodynamic(EHD) jet printing of nano-colloidal silver ink |
초록 | Recently, importance of direct-write technologies is increasing in materials processing due to their advantages such as low cost, high speed, non-contact, free mask, and the eco-friendly process [1]. Inkjet printing method, a typical direct-write technology, has limitations in pattern resolution, viscosity of ink and thickness of printed patterns, which leads the development of an alternative method such as electrohydrodynamic (EHD) jet printing[2]. EHD jet printing uses electric fields to eject inks from nozzle to substrates [3]: There are several jetting modes of EHD jet printing such as spray, dripping, micro-dripping, and cone-jet. Especially, cone-jet and micro-dripping modes are considered as the best mode to fabricate fine lines of nano-colloid metal inks. In this research, we have fabricated micron-sized line patterns of the nano-colloidal silver inks on the silicon substrates by the electrohydrodynamic jet printing technique. We have also investigated the effect of operating conditions such as the applied voltage, working distance and stage speed on the morphology of the jetted silver patterns. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX) results confirm the structural compositions of silver nanoparticles on the silicon substrate. Morphology of the jetted silver patterns have been analyzed by atomic force microscopy(AFM) and scanning electron microscopy(SEM). |
