제목 Encapsulation of Gold Nanoparticles using Glycol Chitosan Cross-linked with Tripolyphosphate
초록 Glycol chitosan (GC) was used to coat monodisperse gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) with the sizes of 50, 100, 150 and 200 nm. The ionic cross-linking of GC on the surface of AuNPs was introduced by tripolyphosphate (TPP) for the particle stability in the medium. The particles were characterized using UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, transition electron microscopy (TEM) and zeta-potential measurement. TEM results confirmed that AuNPs were well coated particle-by-particle without any noticeable aggregation between AuNPs. It was also supported by the red-shift of surface plasmon absorption peak of AuNPs based on the UV-vis spectroscopy. The zeta-potential of the uncoated AuNPs was negative due to the presence of citrates and then it became positive after coating because of GC on the surface of the AuNPs. The cross-linking with TPP changed GC-coated AuNPs to negative-charged nanoparticles, which were stable and remained dispersed in the medium such as EtOH, water and PBS for several days.
