제목 Delivery of chondrocytes and TGF-beta via biodegradable and thermosensitive hydrogels for cartilage tissue engineering
초록 Thermosensitive poly(organophosphazenes) hydrogel were suggested injectable carriers for chondrocytes. The solutions of the present polymers exhibited reversible sol-gel transition behaviors with changes of temperature. The thermosensitive hydrogels were soluble in water at low temperature while their solutions formed gels at body temperature. The aim of this study is to apply the poly(organophosphazenes) gels as injectable chondrocytes and growth factor carriers for cartilage tissue engineering. Thermosensitive poly(organophosphazenes) hydrogels contained chondrocytes and TGF-beta were subcutaneously injected into the nude mice and they were monitored for 1, 4 and 7 weeks after injection. Cartilage specific ECM production was significantly higher in the presence of TGF-beta than in the control without TGF-beta. These data indicate the potential of thermosensitive hydrogel for the delivery of chondrocytes and TGF-beta, as an application for cartilage tissue engineering.
