In recent years, the development of data recording and storage materials has been paid to the application of cyanine dyes for use in storage disk laser system. Cyanine chromophores are cheap, easy to synthesise, and show very good optical properties. Several stabilized dye complexes in which a cyanine cation is stabilized by a transient metal chelate anion have been synthesized. The stabilized cyanine dye comples materials exhibit an enhanced resistance to light and heat in comparison with non-stabilised cyanine dyes. |
