Ordered mesoporous carbons (OMCs) consisted of periodic arrays of carbon nanorods or nanopipes with uniform mesopores are one of candidates for support for PEMFC due to its high specific surface areas up to 2000 m2 g-1, uniform pore diameters, and high thermal, chemical and mechanical stabilities. Recently, synthesized OMC-CNT was reported by eleswhere. In this study, we compared the performances with Pt/C, Pt/OMC, Pt/OMC+Pt/CNT and Pt/OMC-CNT. OMCs were prepared by nano-replication method using ordered mesoporous silicas(OMS) and Pt/OMC with high loading(50 wt.% of Pt) was synthesized by incipient wetness method using precursor of H2PtCl6•xH2O for PEMFC. Characteristics of catalyst were analyzed by TGA, XRD and TEM. All membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) with active area of 5 cm2 were fabricated by decal method with 0.4 mg cm-2 Pt loading. To investigate the durability, constant high voltage method was applied. The performances of PEMFC were measured by using electrochemical methods such as polarization curve, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and cyclic voltammetry (CV). The initial performance of commercial catalyst is better than others. After accelerate test, Pt/OMC-CNT shown better performance. |
