Amperometric Glucose Biosensor by Means of Electrostatic Layer-by-Layer Adsorption onto Polyaniline Membrane |

An amperometric glucose biosensor was fabricated using polyaniline membrane. Polyaniline was reacted with camphorsulfonic acid to produce a salt, which was dissolved in chloroform solution containing polystyrene. The membrane containing polyaniline was formed by solution casting method. Glucose oxidase was immobilized onto these membrane using an electrostatic layer-by-layer adsorption technique. In this method, poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) was used as the counter ion source. The level of adsorption was examined and evidence of layer-by-layer adsorption was obtained using a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) technique. These membranes as a working electrode were used to measure the glucose concentration accurately. |
