Morphology and gas transport properties of poly(amide-imide)/polyurethane blend membranes |
초록 |
Gas separation membranes prepared by polymer blending are of great interest and importance because of the advantage of the combination each polymer into new product. A continuous range of performance can be expected by controlling blend composition and microstructure. The most desirable properties of a gas separation membrane are high permeation rate, thermal stability, chemical resistance, and good mechanical properties. Polyurethanes(PU) are suitable materials for preparing gas separation membranes with high permeability. However, the use of polyurethane membrane for gas separation is limited by its low selectivity of separation gases. A poly(amide-imide)(PAI) has been chosen as the blend membrane material. Aromatic poly(amide-imide) possesses superior mechanical properties typically associated with polyamides and the high thermal stability, solvent resistance and permselectivity characteristic of polyimide. In this study, we prepared free-standing binary PAI/PU blend membranes with varying PAI content in membrane. The morphology of the resulting membrane were investigated by SEM and the effect of PAI content on the permeation of CO2 and N2 gases through the blend membranes has been investigated.
