Comparison of the influence of PLA based and PP based compatibilizers in PLA/PP Blending Systems |

Polylactic Acid(PLA) 20wt%/Polypropylene(PP) 80wt% blending system was prepared by using an extrusion molding technique at the extrusion temperature of 210℃. Two different commercial compatibilizers, BPMS-250(PLA based) and BP-401(PP based) respectively were added into the compound in the range of 2 to 10phr. The final blending systems with different compatibilizers were compared in terms of the microstructures observed by ESEM and the mechanical properties such as tensile, flexural and impact properties measured by using the relative instruments. |
