Study for uniaxially aligned organic semiconducting layer fabricated zone casting showed electrical anisotropy in field-effect transistors, which is related with parallel and perpendicular to the polymer chain direction. It was also investigated using electrooptical spectroscopy to reveal the anisotropy of electrical properties of charges in aligned polymer films. Extending the study, we look into soluble organic small molecules to control the electrical properties of the devices. Interestingly, small molecule solution blended with insulating polymers exhibits improved charge transport characteristics compared to pure semiconductors. Various conditions are explored to control the morphology of films to investigate the anisotropy to understand the origin of enhanced performance. Molecular weight and ratio of incorporated polymers are found as crucial factors to determine the charge transport characteristics. |
