Using the 3-dimensional Monte Carlo diffusion simulation, we investigated the kinetics and morphology of two-phase microstructure during coarsening. By changing the ratio of two-phase and simulation temperature, we observed the kinetic behaviors of ligament evolution with the simulation time. Accordingly, the kinetics growth law for interfacial diffusion is proportional to the fourth power of typical length scale. Also, we compared the average size and shape of ligaments at different simulation temperature and volume fraction, and characterized the morphology using pair-correlation function, surface mesh, and Fourier transformation methods. |
