Liquid metals (LMs) and alloys have recently gained great attention because of their integrated advantages of high conductivity and fluidity, having shown promising results in various emerging applications. Patterning technologies of LMs are active research topics, among a variety of which direct ink writing (DIW) is considered a potentially promising way to achieve their efficient additive manufacturing. However, the true additive manufacturing of LMs at arbitrary printing geometries is still challenging because of their intrinsically low rheological strength. Herein, we demonstrate an additive manufacturable (or 3D printable) colloidal LM suspensions prepared by formulating them with a minute amount of liquid capillary bridges. |
