The objective in this work is preparation of Ag nanoparticle doped TiO2 (Ag-TiO2) by direct photoreduction of Ag on TiO2 surface and application of Ag-TiO2 to composite nanofiber mat. The photoreduction method has been used as an important technique for Ag nanoparticle synthesis on TiO2 surface. We conducted TiO2 surface modification with Ag nanoparticle doping to endow TiO2 with photocatalytic activity under visible light because TiO2 is excitation only by UV light. To synthesis Ag-TiO2 nanoparticles, AgNO3 and P25 were added in deionized water. These suspensions were irradiated with UV light (λ=253.7 nm). To fabricate Nylon 6,6/Ag-TiO2 composite nanofiber mat, the Ag-TiO2 dispersion and amino-silane coupling agent were sprayed separately onto Nylon 6,6 nanofiber surface by spontaneous using of electrospinning and electrospray. The fabrication method of the Ag-TiO2 introduced composite nanofiber mat can be used in textile materials with photocatalytic and antimicrobial activities. |
