제목 | Improved Gentamicin-Loaded PLGA Devices for Antibiotic Local Delivery System |
초록 | Gentamicin sulfate (GS), a highly water soulble antibiotic of the aminoglycoside group, is widely used for the treatment of serious infections such as osteomyelitis and the prevention of secondary infection after orthopedic surgery. GS/PLGA wafers and powders were prepared by direct compression method and melt extrusion method, respectively. We used water soulble additives in order to increase release of GS and to optimize the effect of GS. We have investigated the effects of its' sizes and addivtives. in vitro study was performed in pH 7.4 phosphate buffered saline at 37℃. Drug contents and release amounts of GS were analyzed by high performed liquid chromatography (HPLC). Surface and cross sectional morphology was observed by scanning electron microscope (SEM).
