In the crystallization process, the control of the CSD(Crystal Size Distribution) was very important and to make a narrow range crystal was difficult. To make a fine particles (under 10μm) in the continuous reaction crystallizer was difficult. RPM effect in the calcium carbonate crystallizer was investigated. In the high RPM operation, the system was unstable and the weight mean size change by the time was randomly changed. The final CSD was not interpreted. By the microscopic observation, the crystal was very much aggregated. In the low RPM operation, the system was stable and low aggregated particle was observed. During the operation, the low RPM was suppressed the secondary nucleation. |
