Fluorinated compounds have many applications in areas such as antiadhesive coatings, microelectronics, antifouling and medical materials on account of their low surface energy values. In this study, silver-perfluorodecanethiolate complex were prepared and surface characterizations were performed using scanning electron microscopy and contact angle measurement. From the surface characterizations, we have found that this complex show superhydrophobic property. These results could be explained by the effect of well ordered fluorine component with hierarchical micro-/nano-sized structure. Furthermore, we also discuss the potential of this complex for the antifouling applications. |
