We have incorporated triphenylamine unit as an electron donating group into a Zn(II)-porphyrin derivative to prevent back electron transfer mechanism from TiO2 to a dye cation for stabilizing an oxidized dye. For comparison, we also introduced the substituted cyano groups into a Zn(II)-porphyrin derivative in order to move into a long wavelength absorption for further improvement of power conversion efficiency. Zn(II)-porphyrin derivative including the triphenylamine and cyano groups has a larger effect on the power conversion efficiency than any other Zn(II)-porphyrin derivatives. Very recently, also, we have established that alkyne -bridged chromophore exhibit superior incident monochromatic photon-to-current conversion efficiency and enhanced red response compared to the alkene π-bridged chromophore. In addition, key material issues on enhancing conversion efficiency for mobile photovoltaic systems will be also discussed. |
