제목 Innovative transdermal drug delivery system using dissolvable microneedles
초록 The microneedle-mediated drug delivery system has been developed to provide painless self-administration via transdermal route in a patient-friendly manner.  Conventional fabrication methods of dissolving microneedle have problems to standardize the drug dose and to maintain the activity of biological drug. This study suggests an innovative dissolving microneedle fabrication method, the droplet-born air blowing (DAB), which provides gentle (4-25 °C) and fast (within 5 min) fabrication conditions with precise control of drug dose. The amount of drug in the microneedle can be controlled by the droplet size. And the air blowing shapes this droplet to the microneedle, providing a force sufficient to penetrate skin without wasting of drug. Raphas developed mass production technology based on DAB method and produce dissolving microneedle-arrayed patch on a large scale.
