One step hydrothermal synthesis of titanium oxide nanostructures with variable HCl concentrations |

This work reports one-step hydrothermal synthesis of TiO2 nanomaterials at low temperature using tetrabutyl titanate (TiO(CH2)3CH34) as precursor and HCl solutions of different concentrations (0.5 to 12M). The variation in HCl concentration displays a significant effect on the morphology and crystalline phases of TiO2. The field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) confirm the growth of different morphological structures of nanoflowers (NFs), nanoparticles (NPs) nanorods (NRs) with respect with HCl concentration. The obtained TiO2 nanostructures exhibit only anatase TiO2 phases with good crystalline nature. The morphological complexity of TiO2 nanostructures are explained by proposed growth mechanism. |
