Activation of carbons derived from carbohydrates |
초록 |
Porous carbon materials have been prepared using carbohydrates as a precursor by pyrolysis under nitrogen atmosphere. The activation process was carried out under ammonia gas conditions at different temperatures in the range of 700-900 °C. The surface areas of pristine carbons derived from alginic acid were measured as 258.2 m2 g-1 with a pore volume of 0.15 cm3 g-1. However, those values increased up to 1032.0 m2 g-1 with a pore volume of 0.65 cm3 g-1 after the ammonia activation. The CO2 adsorption capacity of ammonia activated carbon derived from alginic acid was measured as up to 2.20 mmol g-1. |
