제목 | Synthesis and Characterization of Polyurethane/Organoclay Nanocomposites |
초록 | Polyurethane/orgnoclay nanocomposites were prepared by the solvent process method. The cationic surfactant, benzyldimethylalkylammonium chloride(BDAC), was synthesized for funtionalization of montomrillonite(MMT). BDAC modified montmorillonite was synthesized by cationic exchange between sodium ions of MMT and alkyl ammonium cation of BDAC. Another cationic surfactant was synthesized using 1-hexadecylamine(HEXA).1 Polyurethane(PU) was synthesized from tetramethyleneglycol(PTMG), 4,4’- Dipenylmethane diisocyanate(MDI), 1,4-butanediol(1,4-BD). From the results of X-ray Diffraction(XRD), the interlayer spacing of BDAC/MMT and HEXA/MMT was increased, compared to that of the pristine Na+-MMT. Different amounts of orgnoclay ( 1, 3, 5 wt% ) were mixed with polyurethane(PU).2 We studied thermal and mechanical properties using differential scanning calorimeter(DSC), dynamic mechanical thermal analyzer(DMTA), thermal gravimetric analyzer(TGA), and so on.
