Inverted Organic Solar Cells Properties Based on IDTT and malononitrile Derivatives as Donor Materials |

Organic solar cells based on indacedithieno[3,2-b]thiophene (IDTT) as donor moiety, phenylisoxazolone (OX) and malonitrile derivatives (EPMP-IDC) as acceptor moiety, named IDTT-OX and IDTT-EPMP-IDC have been successfully fabricated. Their photovoltaic performance for solution-processed bulk heterojunction organic solar cells (OSCs) was investigated and revealed that IDTT-OX exhibits a strong self-aggregation behavior and broad absorption with an optical band gap of 1.88 eV, while IDTT-EPMP-IDC shows better performance with a 1.60 eV optical bandgap. The devices based on IDTT-OX and IDTT-EPMP-IDC as a donor and PC71BM as an acceptor was fabricated to investigate the relationship of different functional groups in the donor unit. The power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the optimized devices is obtained up to 0.29% for IDTT-OX and 2.07% for IDTT-EPMP-IDC. |
