Aluminum hydroxide (ATH)/poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) composites are employed to the various applications as an artificial marble. During the manufacturing of these composites, various kinds of waste composites were produced. Proper recycle of these waste composites is needed urgently. The fine powders of waste composite were recycled in the manufacturing of artificial marbles to reduce the waste of resources and environmental pollution. The effect of the content of waste composite on the mechanical strength, thermal properties, chemical resistance, and hardening characteristics of ATH/PMMA composite was studied. The viscosity variation was investigated to find the optimum composition depending on the homogenization time. |
