Block copolymers(BCPs) having two or more chemically different polymer chains covalently linked at one end, self-assemble into various ordered nanostructure including spheres, cylinders, and lamellae. Self-assembled BCPs makes them attractive candidates as templates and scaffolds for the fabrication of nanodots and nanowires. Blending two different BCP with different chemical components can offer extended opportunity to generate templates with more various patterns due to their complicated phase behavior. Here we have used PS-b-PEO and PS-b-P2VP to produce well defined nanopatterns. The resulting nanopatterns were used as a template for fabrication of metal nanoparticles and nanowires by using selective interaction of BCP components with metallic precursors. The characteristic size and shape were found to be dependent on the blend ratio, film thickness, processing conditions, etc. |
