Organic groups in bridged polysilsesquioxanes provide an opportunity to modulate bulk properties such as porosity, thermal stability, refractive index, optical clarity, chemical resistance, hydrophobicity, and dielectric constant. The research regarding nanoparticles is currently an area of intense scientific research due to a wide variety of potential applications in biomedical, optical, and electronic fields. We have fabricated non-emulsion method to prepare spherical, monodisperse nanoparticles of bridged polysilsesquioxanes. The average size of particles is around 100~200 nm. Furthermore, hybrid materials of gold nanoparticles and bridged polysilsesquioxanes were synthesized by the reaction of gold nanoparticles and bridged polysilsesquioxanes with thiol groups. The characteristics of hybrid materials were confirmed by UV-vis, TEM, TGA, FT-IR, DSC, and SEM. |
