Titanium is the most widely used biomaterials in orthopedic, vascular and dental applications. Although many cellular interactions with nano surface features were studied in previously, the mechanism of protein adsorption, conformation and adsorbed protein interconnectivity on nanoscale were not comprehensively analyzed. Here we report extensive analysis of protein dynamics, such as serum proteins and fibronectin, on nano bump surface structures of titanium materials. Various experimental tools like XPS, Raman, TEM, AFM and ELISA experiments were done for understanding increased proteins adsorption mechanism on nano titanium materials. Roles of surface wettability and nanoscale roughness for the dynamics of protein adsorption mechanism were demonstrated in this study. Lastly, influence of protein adsorption associated with major tissue cell interactions will be discussed. |
