제목 Automated process design with a superstructure-based optimization framework for multi-stage membrane processes
초록 The membrane process has been emerged as one of new advanced separation technologies for the capture of CO2 emitted from process industries, due to low capital, easy installation and small footprint. Limited studies have been carried out for the automated design of CO2/N2 separation systems in which superstructure approach is applied to consider all the possible membrane structures as well as to examine operating conditions simultaneously. In this study, the superstructure-based optimization framework is proposed with systeamtic trade-offs between major CAPEX and OPEX elements. Case studies were made to investigate techno-economic impact of membrane-based CO2 capture process on 500 MW-scale coal-fired power plant.
