제목 | Improving the photovoltaic performance of quantum dot-sensitized solar cells using copper-doped cadmium sulfide quantum dots |
초록 | This work describes the effect of incorporation of copper (Cu) in CdS QDs to improve the photovoltaic performance of quantum dot sensitized solar cells (QDSSCs). The various concentrations of Cu-doped CdS photoelectrodes were synthesized by successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method. The cell devices were fabricated using Cu-doped photoanodes and CuS counter electrodes with a polysulfide electrolyte. Under the illumination of one sun (AM 1.5 G, 100 mW cm-2), 3mm Cu-doped CdS QDSSCs exhibit excellent power conversion efficiency (η = 3%) and short circuit current density (Jsc = 9.40 mA cm-2), which is higher than the values of bare CdS QDs (η = 2.05%, Jsc = 7.12 mA cm-2). The improved photovoltaic parameters of QDSSCs is due to the impurities from Cu2+ metal ion doping of CdS QDs, which have an influence on the surface structure of the host material. |
