Inorganic foams having interconnected pores were prepared using water-soluble porogens. Compared with conventional methods including dissolution/sintering method, the present method does not need heat treatment such as sintering. Pressing powders (calcium phosphates) and dissolution of porogens are two major processing methods. A number of processing factors such as the composition of powder mixture, pressure, temperature, etc. are studied to reveal the effects on the formation of the microstructures and properties of porous products. |
