제목 Investigation of Petroleum Coke-Derived Adsorbent for Enhancing CF4 adsorption with KOH Activation Treatment
초록 The CF4 is considered as one of significant global warming compounds and has a fairly long atmospheric lifetime, exacerbating the climate changes. The adsorption is considered a promising technology for CF4 capture. In this study, the CF4 adsorption process was investigated and petroleum coke (PC) was utilized for developing CF4 adsorbents by chemical activation treatment. The textual properties of prepared samples showed dramatically difference by changing carbonization temperatures and KOH/PC mass ratios. The adsorption capacity of CF4 was remarkably dominated by the surface area and pore volume of narrow micropores below 0.80 nm in size. The KOH-activated PC sample, prepared under the carbonization temperature of 450 °C and KOH/PC mass ratio of 2, exhibited maximum CF4 adsorption capacity of 2.79 mol kg-1 at 25 oC and 1 atm, and displayed good CF4/N2 selectivity at relatively low CF4 pressures, excellent recyclability, easy regeneration, and rapid adsorption-desorption kinetics.
