Thermo-responsive materials have numerous applications for tissue engineering, drug delivery and cell sheet. In this study, poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAm) hydrogel as a thermo-responsive material was combined with porous polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) film to make thermo-responsive films which might have extremely different properties from hydrophilic to hydrophobic characters. PDMS films were first prepared by directional melting crystallization(DMC). Then, NIPAAm monomers in dioxane were infiltrated into the pores of PDMS film. By thermal cross-linking, the thermo-responsive films were finally fabricated. The contact angle and equilibrium swelling ratio of the films were dependent on temperature. The results show that the films have a thermo-responsive behavior that based on unique material combination. |
