제목 Control of supramolecular chirality by light
초록 Homochirality in life on earth is often perceived as a result of chirality transfer from extraterrestrial sources. It has been shown that the primal symmetry breaking can occur by external stimuli such as circularly polarized light (CPL). The small chiral bias can be amplified in the supramolecular scale by self-assembly and polymerization of building blocks including the point chirality. Several reports have revealed supramolecular chirality can be also induced directly by CPL from achiral building blocks. However, how supramolecular chirality grows in the simultaneous presence of molecular chirality and CPL has been an open question given their influence. In this presentation, we explore emergence of supramolecular chirality by co-assembly of chiral and achiral molecules upon CPL irradiation. This result will provide insight on competition and cooperation between molecular chirality and CPL on the evolution of chirality.
