제목 Oligomeric PEG-based co-adsorbent on the TiO2 Nanostructure in the Solid State Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells
초록 In solid state dye-sensitized solar cells, electron recombination and pore filling of electrolyte into mesoporous TiO2 layer are important factors in affecting the energy conversion efficiency. Oligomeric PEGs containing COOH group as a co-adsorbent were introduced to reduce the electron recombination rates between TiO2 and triiodide of the polymer electrolyte (PEGDME/MPII/I2/Silica). Open circuit voltage and power conversion efficiency under 1 sun conditions were enhanced from 0.61 to 0.71V and from 4.62 to 5.71%, respectively, with the co-adsorbent concentration of 10 mM. The electron recombination rates were characterized using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). It is thus concluded that the introduction of the hydrophilic oligomeric co-adsorbent on the TiO2 influences on the negative shift of the TiO2 conduction band and decreases of the electron recombination rate, resulting in an improved photovoltaic performance.
