Tailored Single Crystals of Triisopropylsilylethynyl Pentacene by Selective Contact Evaporation Printing |

Our method is based on top-down selective etching of flat and homogeneous TIPS-PEN single crystal film carefully grown by controlled solvent evaporation of co-solvents. The regions of the TIPS-PEN single crystal film in conformal contact with a topographically pre-patterned poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) mold is selectively etched upon thermal treatment at 100C, leading to well defined micropatterns of TIPS-PEN single crystals. Arrays of bottom gate organic thin film transistors with rectangular-shape TIPS-PEN single crystals show characteristic p-type current modulation with On/Off ratio and field effect mobility of 106 and 0.36 cm2/Vs, respectively. In addition, our arrayed TIPS-PEN single crystals are conveniently detached and transferred to another substrate for further applications. |
