제목 Preparation and Characterization of Copper Plated Synthetic Fibers using Supercritical Carbon Dioxide
초록 Some synthetic fibers, such as Aramid, poly(ethylene terephthalate)(PET) and Nylon were plated by copper using newly developed process. In newly developed supercritical pretreatment technology, palladium(Ⅱ) hexafluoro-acetylacetonate (Pd(hfa)2) is impregnated into synthetic fibers, and it can be easily activated by overheating without hydrogen. The treated synthetic fibers immersed in the electroless copper plating solution is coated with a shining copper film. FE-SEM images of electroless copper-coated synthetic fibers confirmed that electroless copper were successfully coated on surfaces of synthetic fibers. IT has good conductive properties, even after abrasion and washing tests. Overall, it was revealed that the electroless copper-coating method can be an efficient process to produce conductive fibers without deteriorating mechanical properties of original fibers.
