Here, we investigate diverse morphologies of self-assembled block copolymer as a function of pH, DMF (cosolvent) wt %, and molecular weight ratio of hydrophilic and hydrophobic blocks based on PS-b-PAA and PS-b-P4VP block copolymers. By adjusting the pH of aqueous solution, we were able to selectively segregate coronas at extreme pH values. This segregation is based on the difference in repulsive interactions within PAA or P4VP corona under different pH conditions. Moreover, using DMF wt% as an independent variable, we could vary the morphological structure of BCMs by adjusting the kinetics of BCM formation. Finally, the morphology of internal structures was controlled by varying the molecular weight ratio of hydrophilic and hydrophobic blocks of the two diblocks. This experimental observations are of fundamental significance both for understanding the phase behavior of block copolymers in confining geometries and also for various potential applications. |
