The small-pore KFI-type zeolite was prepared by the hydrothermal conversion of zeolite Y without using organic structure-directing agent (OSDA). The KFI zeolite with various Si/Al2 ratio and crystallinity was prepared by changing the amount of Na+, K+, OH–, H2O and temperature. The KFI zeolites were copper ion-exchanged, and then applied for selective catalytic reduction of NOx with NH3 (NH3-SCR) reaction. The Cu-KFI catalysts exhibited substantially high activity even after severe hydrothermal aging at 800 °C. Such results demonstrate that the Cu-KFI, which can be synthesized without using organic agents, can be used as alternative catalyst to Cu-SSZ-13. |
