In this work, spin-assembled reduced graphene oxide (RGO) thin films are utilized as a working electrode in electrochemical impedance sensors for label-free detection of biomolecules. Thermally or chemically denatured proteins of bovine serum albumine (BSA) are immobilized on the RGO surface via hydrophobic interactions, which generates a change in the electrochemical impedance. An additional binding with anti-BSA is also captured and quantified by an increase of impedance values. As a result, a straightforward platform of highly sensitive and selective detection of biomolecules can be constructed while excluding needs of the backfill process for preventing non-specific binding events. |
