Skin is the largest organ that covers the entire body and protects the intestines from various external hazards. Furthermore, the physical properties of the skin can provide important information for the diagnosis of various skin diseases and internal diseases. Electronic skin (e-skin) has become the mainstream of human-machine interface technology, enabling the communication of important signals in human skin. In order to communicate for a long time without deterioration of the device for collecting body information, an e-skin with a stable and adaptable interface should be developed. However, most e-skins have treated the skin as a curved mounting surface, neglecting the realization of how this can affect the skin's biological function. Here, we introduce a perforated electronic skin for long-term health monitoring that shows ~100% breathability to the skin through a skin-like soft patch and through-holes inspired by the pores of a thin-film electrical module. |
